As a Product Designer, I had the exciting opportunity to lead the redesign and feature enhancement of the Libertas App, the official public transportation application for the beautiful city of Dubrovnik. While the existing app provided essential information, our key challenge was to elevate the user experience, making it more intuitive, efficient, and ultimately, a seamless part of navigating Dubrovnik.

One of the primary issues we tackled was the information architecture. Users often found it difficult to quickly access the information they needed, such as real-time bus arrival times and route details. The visual design also felt dated and didn't fully reflect the modern and vibrant spirit of Dubrovnik.

Our approach was deeply rooted in user-centered design principles. We conducted thorough user research, analyzing user reviews, and identifying key pain points. This insight informed a complete overhaul of the app's information architecture, prioritizing quick access to essential features. We introduced a cleaner, more visually appealing interface aligned with contemporary design trends, ensuring better readability and ease of navigation.

Beyond the visual and structural improvements, we focused on adding features that would significantly enhance the user's journey. This included:

• Real-time bus tracking on an interactive map: Empowering users with live locations of buses for better planning and reduced waiting times.

• Improved search functionality: Making it easier to find specific bus lines, stops, and points of interest.

• Personalized favorites and notifications: Allowing users to save frequently used routes and receive timely alerts about delays or changes.

• Multilingual support: Catering to the diverse range of tourists and residents in Dubrovnik.
